Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the mashed avocado, applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.
Fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped walnuts if using.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
For a nut-free version, substitute almond flour with oat flour.
