In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes and cucumbers.
Add the thinly sliced red onion and chopped basil into the bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey (if using), salt, and pepper until well blended.
Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and gently toss to combine, making sure all the vegetables are nicely coated.
Let the salad sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together before serving.

Serve the salad in a large, shallow bowl, garnished with extra basil leaves on top for a pop of color. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top just before serving for added shine.
