In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground turkey, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, milk, chopped onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Spread the meat mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Create a slight indent in the center to hold the mixed vegetables.
In a separate bowl, mix the mixed vegetables with the cream of mushroom soup, and then pour it over the meat mixture, spreading it evenly.
Top the casserole with dollops of prepared mashed potatoes. Use a fork to create swirls for added texture.
Sprinkle additional shredded cheese over the top of the mashed potatoes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve the casserole in individual portions, garnished with fresh parsley for color. You can also offer a side of salad for freshness.
